No. Per our liquor license, all alcohol must be purchased through our distributor. No outside alcohol is allowed. The only place outside alcohol is allowed is in the privacy of your private guest room.

Do I have to rent all of the rooms in the lodge?

Yes. Our weekend weddings require that you rent out all 31 guest rooms. This creates a very intimate weekend experience for your group and also prevents the possibility of outside guests interrupting your group experience (and vice versa). For our Sunday weddings, we require the couple to book a block of 10 rooms.

How many many people can the lodge accommodate?

We have 31 guest rooms and can accommodate up to 79 guests. Our pricing is based on double occupancy, thus our standard group booking is for 62 people. For a fee, 10 additional guests can be accommodated.

Race Mountain House is located adjacent to the property. From the reception area of the lodge, it’s approximately a 10 minutes walk. It has its own driveway and can also be reached by car. The home has four bedrooms and can accommodate up to 15 guests. Our standard pricing is based on 10 guests. For a fee, 5 additional guests can be accommodated.

Yes, there are additional lodging options nearby in Sheffield, MA and Salisbury, CT. Please contact us for a list of recommendations for your guest overflow!

How many people can your barn events host?

We can accommodate more than 200 guests. Our barn can comfortably seat up to 60 people for a combined use of the space for your seated dinner and dance floor. If it is a dinner only event, we can host 75 people inside of the barn. For dinner and dancing parties with more than 60 guests, you must rent a tent for the seated dinner. In this scenario, the barn is utilized for the bar, lounge and dancing. Here the barn can also be the backup rain location for a wedding ceremony, if needed.

Do you have tables and chairs that we can use?

Yes. With our standard catering packages, we provide 8’banquet tables and white resin chairs for both your reception and your ceremony. We also provide white linens and standard place settings inclusive of plates, silverware and glassware. If you would like to order customized decor, like farm tables, etc, we have listed two vendors that specialize in custom tent, table, chair, linen and general decor rentals.

Amplified music in the barn must conclude by 11 p.m.

Yes. The Down County Social Club, under the tavern, is an underground speakeasy style venue. We host after parties there and you are welcome to have live music on until 1:30a.

Do you offer on site event planning?

No. We offer on site coordination the day of the event, and we’re here to help with support, as needed during your planning process. We will make sure that all on site logistics are handled seamlessly. Event planners, should you choose to work with one, will custom create your design aesthetic and they orchestrate all of the elements that tie the theme of your big day together. These responsibilities include things like:

  • creating floor plans and seating charts

  • giving us design direction so we can set up the space to suit your taste

  • rental orders, especially if you opt to order your own tables and chairs rather than using the standard setup that we provide

  • management of your guest list. Event planners will notify us of your final head count and ensure that we have the final meal orders

  • keeping you “on time” for hair & makeup, etc., during the day of the event

  • event planners also help to ensure that on the day of the event, you are free to mingle with your guests and enjoy the party. Sometimes last minute questions arise, and the event planner becomes our point of contact and they give us direction on those last minute details
